| Q: What are Faux Desserts used for? A: Faux Desserts are perfect to display in your kitchen, dining room, holiday displays for homes & businesses, home stagings for selling your home, table-scapes for parties, antique shops for showing off pretty china & crystal and more. My creations have also been used in displays for Family Holiday Attractions for a Santa Candyland display & Santa's kitchen display. A few of my items have been on stage for plays as well. Q: Are all your desserts hand made? A: Yes. Everything is made by yours truly... Kathy of Kathy's Faux Desserts. I make them in my workshop in a Smoke Free Environment. Q: Who is Kathy of Kathy's Faux Desserts? A: I am a stay at home Mom of 2 beautiful children who 3 years ago discovered faux food and have been making faux desserts ever since! Now I get to be a stay at home Mom and work at home too! I have always been a very creative person and I happen to love desserts! Now I can create desserts that people can enjoy all year round without the guilt of calories & fat! Q: Do you use Royal Icing or Salt Dough? A: No I do not use royal icing or salt dough. There are absolutely no food ingredients in Kathy's Faux Desserts. With the exception of sprinkled cinnamon that is used on some pies and hot cocoa. It is sealed with a clear sealer. Q: What are Kathy's Faux Desserts made of? A: Kathy's Faux Desserts are made with building materials, various clays, polyurethane, paint & various decorative embellishments. Kathy's Faux Desserts contain no food ingredients. Nothing is edible! Q: How do I take care of & clean my faux desserts? A: All of Kathy's Faux Desserts are easy to care for. Simply use a clean dry paint brush and brush any dust away. If minor cleaning is needed, use a slightly damp cloth and gently clean. Do not immerse in water or get wet. Keep away from open flame and do not place in direct sunlight for long lengths of time as some color fading may occur. Q: After I am finished displaying my faux desserts how do I store them until I want to use them again? A: Simply wrap Kathy's Faux Desserts in "white" tissue paper and store in cool dry place such as a closet. Kathy's Faux Desserts are not made of wax but it is still recommended that you do not store them in an attic where excessive heat can build up as some materials can possibly become discolored from excessive heat. Do not wrap in plastic. Q: How long can I expect to have my Faux Desserts last? A: As long as you want! Kathy's Faux Desserts cakes, pies, ice cream, cookies, truffles & pastries are all made with long lasting durable materials. Extra care should be used with cookies as they are the more fragile of all Kathy's Faux Desserts. They can break if you "try" to break them. Q: Can your desserts be used as play food? A: Kathy's Faux Desserts are not play food. They are meant for display only and are not meant to be played with by children or special adults. Small children and even some special adults tend to put things in their mouths and some of the materials used to make Kathy's Faux Desserts are harmful if ingested. Pieces that may break off if bitten can be a choking hazard. Please keep out of reach of any child or special adult who might try to eat them. Keep away from pets too. Q: How do you ship your orders? A: All orders are shipped via Priority Mail with insurance. A confirmation number is emailed to you when your order ships. Priority Mail takes 2-3 days to be delivered. However, Thanksgiving - Christmas the U.S. Postal Service can take longer to deliver Priority Mail. Express Mail is available upon request. UPS is also available with a $5 flat handling fee to cover my travel & time to go to a UPS store. Buyers are responsible for all shipping charges. Q: Do you accept returns? A: I have never had anyone who was unhappy with their purchase. My goal is to always have happy customers. Since pictures of finished orders are emailed before shipping for customer approval, only items damaged during shipping can be returned for a refund. However a refund can only be given for the item purchased and only once it has been returned. Refunds for shipping costs will not be given. Shipping charges for returns are the buyers responsibility. Returns must be approved and include a postal confirmation number for tracking purposes. If there are"special circumstances" with a customer then exceptions can be made to this policy. You would have to contact me with your situation. I am honest and easy to work with. :) Q: When will you have a automated check out system? A: Business has been extremely well with customer placing their orders through email. My responses are personal and specifically for each customer. I like it that way and so do my customers. I have no date right now as to when or if I will switch to automatic check out. Q: How do I pay for my order? A: I accept Paypal, money orders, personal checks & cashiers checks. Paypal customers are sent an invoice through Paypal for easy secure payment through Paypal. Mailed payments can be sent to: Kathy's Faux Desserts P.O. Box 180, Jackson, NJ 08527-0180. If paying with a personal check it will have to clear before your order ships. Paypal echecks must clear before shipping too. Q: Is there a Handling Charge on Orders? A: NO. Only if you request that I ship UPS. UPS orders are charged a flat $5 handling fee to cover my cost of travel and time to a UPS Store location. Please email me if you have any questions about this. Most of my orders are shipped Priority Mail using the Post Office and there is no handling fee. Q: Can I call Kathy's Faux Desserts? A: I am sorry. I am not set up to accept calls at this time.
